Dr. Edward W. Minnock Institute for Global Engagement

Greetings from the Minnock Institute for Global Engagement.

Bridgewater State University has taken a new and important step to connect our students, faculty and indeed the entire southeastern Massachusetts region to the world. We now live in a global community marked by billions of Internet connections each day, the constant movement of goods and services from country to country and most importantly the growing interest of people around the world to learn from each other, especially on a college campus.

The Minnock Institute for Global Engagement is committed to creating and fostering a learning environment where students and faculty from foreign countries interact with our own students and faculty to help make Bridgewater State University a truly global campus. At the Institute, the Offices of Global Programs, International Student Services, and Study Abroad will coordinate this new and important initiative and provide the campus community with opportunities for academic programs, travel, research, and community service.

Internationalizing the campus is an exciting development at Bridgewater and one that we are anxious to move forward. As we say at the Institute, our task is to "open doors to the world."
Located at 25 Park Terrace, the MCIE was created in 2010 in response to the University's increasing demand for international opportunities. Renamed in 2017, the Institute houses four key areas - Global ProgramsStudy Abroad, and International Student and Scholar Services - to focus on maximizing the quality and quantity of international experiences. Please stop by the Institute with any questions and to learn more!

On Behalf of the Global Engagement Steering Committee, the Faculty & Staff Sub-Committee is proud to announce a new Global Experience Employee Inventory Database.  Our hope and goal is to create a master database of willing faculty and staff who would like to connect with students and share their global backgrounds and/or experiences.  Below is the link to our voluntary survey which we are working to translate to a searchable database accessible to the BSU Community (to be hosted on our Minnock Institute Intranet site).  Please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Wing-kai To ( with any further questions.
