Computer Science

The Department offers undergraduate programs for majors in computer science leading to the Bachelor of Science degree. Students who would like exposure to computer science without the entire major should consider our minor in computer science. The Department also offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Science degree.

The BS degree in Computer Science at BSU is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET

In accordance with ABET reporting requirements and best practices of transparency, we provide the following information for prospective students:

The computer science program provides students a broad computer science education, preparing them to apply appropriate scientific and mathematical background to the design, implementation and evaluation of computer based systems. Students need to understand the professional and ethical responsibilities inherent in designing the software that runs our world today while learning to work effectively in teams to build the larger computer systems in use now. Given the rapidly changing nature of the discipline, students need to appreciate the need for continuing learning and development throughout their careers.
