Responsible Conduct of Research

When an investigator obtains data through intervention or interaction with a living individual or accesses identifiable private personal information, the IRB should be consulted.

Human Subject Research
The University’s policy on the use of human subjects encompasses research development, testing, and evaluation designed to develop or contribute to generalizable knowledge.

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)
CITI is the training site for certification of training in human subject research, animal subject research and responsible conduct of research.

IRB Meeting Schedule, Policies and Procedures

Read IRB policies and procedures, including board membership, conflict of interest, meeting procedures, and investigator guidelines.

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE IRB CHAIR:

Please remember that as the Primary Investigator (“PI”), you are ultimately responsible for the application, materials, project execution, and overall accuracy of the application prior to submitting it for IRB review.  As PI, you should be communicating with the IRB should it be necessary, not your students.  It is NOT the responsibility of the IRB Committee to serve as an additional editor and advisor for student projects.

The IRB's charge is ethical, not education.  We are focused on regulatory compliance with federal guidelines.

Thank you in advance for ensuring that all of your submissions are fully complete, professonal and clearly written, otherwise the application will be denied.
