Increase your sphere of influence through global engagement!

The BSU Study Abroad Office recognizes that BSU faculty, advisors, and staff are some of our best allies in helping BSU students to understand the importance of having an international experience during their college career and in publicizing our programs to students. Toward that end, we are happy to provide the following resources to our colleagues:

Developing Faculty-Led Travel Courses

Faculty-led Travel Courses usually range in length from 2 to 3 weeks and are offered during the Winter Break, Spring Break, or Summer Sessions. Travel Courses are a tradition at BSU and one that the Office of Study Abroad enthusiastically supports. These programs provide a variety of benefits for students including: an overseas program directly linked to their coursework, the security of traveling with someone they know and respect, and shorter travel time that opens up opportunities to students who otherwise would not go abroad.

The Office of Study Abroad is available to discuss new program ideas and respond to questions about any new program proposal. All new programs are reviewed and approved by both the leadership of the initiator's academic unit and by the Study Abroad Office.  A Faculty Leader Travel Course Handbook is available upon request.

Travel Course Proposal Application Deadlines (for faculty leaders):

Proposals should be submitted by Friday, March 18, 2016 for Travel Courses proposed for Winter Break 2016/17, Spring Break 2017 or Summer Term 2017.  Proposals will be reviewed by the Study Abroad Advisory Committee and faculty will be notified by early April.
