​​Student Laptop Computer Requirement

Bridgewater State University requires all full-time undergraduate students to have notebook computers.

Technology is a critical component in a growing number of courses offered at Bridgewater State University. Research gathered on the experience of students at other universities gives us confidence that students at BSU will enjoy the following benefits:
  • Access to computing capability at all times and places on campus
  • Access to their files-even very large files-at all times and places
  • BSU faculty members integrating computers into classroom and homework
  • Inter-active class activities utilizing laptop computers
  • Less reliance on computer lab schedule and availability
  • Access to BSU printers through the wired and wireless network
  • CD-ROM textbooks and other technology-based course supplements can supplement course textbooks.
  • Immediate access to e-mail, one of the official means of communication on the BSU campus
  • Laptops ensure all students have equal access to official BSU communications.
