The Blackboard Learning Management System @ BSU​ provides you with course space for sharing documents, engaging in online discussions, creating online exams, establishing an online gradebook, and much more.  Contact the Teaching & Technology Center at ttc@bridgew.edu​ to set up a one-on-one training session.

Your Blackboard course shells for the upcoming semester are automatically created for you and your students automatically enrolled as soon as these details are entered into Banner (Web for Faculty). Students will also be automatically added and removed from your Blackboard sites during the add/drop period.

Blackboard supports the following browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari.  See the latest Blackboard Supported Browsers​.

Blackboard tutorials for Students: Add links to Hoonuit Training Videos for Blackboard and other tech tools (i.e. Excel, SPSS) in your Blackboard course site.​
You can also provide students with the Blackboard Student Resources Handout​.

Please have your students contact the IT Service Center for Blackboard support.

Known Issues

If you're using an iPad to grade students in Safari, and you're having trouble scrolling right through the Grade Center columns, click the down arrow to the right of where it reads "Grade Center: Full Grade Center" and select "turn screen reader mode on"​. 

Due to mobile responsive design, screen sizes 1024x768 and lower will cause Course Menus to be automatically hidden.  To be displayed, the browser window will have to be manually expanded.

From the Needs Grading screen, faculty will choose an assignment to grade, select that item, and select Grade All.  Things appear fine, but after 5 minutes or so the instructor is ejected from the Needs Grading screen and back to the Grade Center.  The instructor will then have to go back to the Needs Grading window and continue.  Blackboard Support has acknowledged that this is a bug in the system and they are working on a fix for a future release.
