Faculty Chromebook Loaner Program

A Chromebook is a laptop that runs Google's Chrome OS as its operating system rather than Windows or Mac OS X. BSU Chromebooks are configured to connect to your existing IT account and can access any software you use over the Internet, such as:
  • BSU Email
  • Microsoft Office 365 apps*
  • CloudPC**
  • Web for Faculty
  • Blackboard
  • Google apps
To request a loaner Chromebook for the academic year, please complete our online form.

We have a limited number of Chromebooks available to loan to full and part-time faculty, so please sign up right away! Chromebooks may be borrowed for the academic year, but must be returned when final grades are due in the Spring.

The Chromebook keyboard has some subtle differences from your Mac or PC. Here is a printable list of keyboard shortcuts you can keep with your Chromebook: CB_shortcuts.pdfCB_shortcuts.pdf (make sure to print double sided!)

*Microsoft Office 365 offers cloud-based email, One Drive and Office Online (cloud-based Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Learn more here: Office 365 Info Page

**CloudPC virtual desktop with installed BSU software is available for use by all BSU users. Learn more here: CloudPC Info Page
