Advising Workshop

                                          Advising Workshop

All new transfer students are required to sign up for an advising workshop.   When attending
your scheduled advising workshop you will need two things:

            1) a copy of your spring 2018 course schedule (register for as many courses as possible
before attending your advising session), and
            2) a copy of your DegreeWorks audit, showing which courses you are currently enrolled in.
It is best to print a fresh audit after you register.
During your transfer advising workshop, you will be advised whether or not you need to complete placement testing. You will be required to sign up for placement testing if you have not yet declared a major or have declared a major in the Ricciardi College of Business or Bartlett College of Science and Math and do not transfer in the equivalent of MATH 140, Pre-calculus or higher. All students who do not transfer in the equivalent to ENGL 101 will also be required to test.  For those required to do placement testing, the Academic Achievement Center offers resources to help you prepare for the placement tests. Please visit for helpful information, sample tests, and an online review workshop through Blackboard.

Refer to the tutorials below if you need assistance with your Degree Audit and bring a list of any questions you may have with you to your advising workshop.

NOTE:  All advising is done through the Academic Achievement Center for first time transfers.  Please do not contact your major department for advising.  The Academic Achievement Center is located on the ground floor of the Maxwell Library.

You will be asked to login.  Use the credentials that you created when you applied for admission. (Do NOT use your BSU email account for steps 1 & 2.)  You most likely used a Yahoo, Gmail or AOL, etc. email address.  If you cannot remember the email you used or your password for this account, call the Office of Admissions at 508-531-1237, identify yourself as a new transfer student, needing assistance with logging into the signup program, and ask for your account to be reset.
