IT Consulting and Projects

projects
The Information Technology (IT) Division offers a multitude of services that enhance productivity of workers and students.  Telephones, computers, email, file sharing, and the like all are designed and available every day as utilities that are indispensable in the day-to-day life of the university.  However, other less known services are offered that most users either do not know about or only experience their use episodically.  One such service that fits this description is “IT Consulting.”

IT Consulting is a service that is available to the community to help users solve their business problems using technology.  Many times users know what they want to do (business problem), but do not know what is available (applications, systems, etc.) to help them solve their problem.  This is where the IT consulting service can help.

IT is blessed with many technology subject matter experts (SME) that know what services are/are not available in the IT portfolio and can help guide users to an appropriate technology to solve the business problem.  Connected to IT consulting is the IT Projects Office.  It should come as no surprise that technology solutions resulting from an IT consulting engagement oftentimes need a project where IT can help deliver a needed result via a formal project.

For information on current and completed IT Projects, please check out the IT Project Management Office page.

To request an IT consultant, please contact the Help Desk by calling X2555 or by emailing itsupport@bridgew.edu.
